I thought I would start a new post as a location where we can share interesting resources and articles that we happen to find along the way.
I found a blog, Webworkerdaily.com, that has some great information about the rapidly changing world of social media. This particular post, 10 Golden Rules of Social Media, was quite good. I enjoyed reading it, and thought it was well thought out and supported. It was also interesting to see that the author has been online pretty much since the beginning (or at least as long as it’s been available to the general public!). Check it out.
Trish actually wrote this — I thought it would make a better page unto itself than simply a post. Let’s all use it now!
When looking around for information on how new media has impacted internal communications, I came across a man by the name of Shel Holtz. Some of you may recognize his name from different articles, but his interests are mostly in internal communication, and he has done a lot of work with internet based projects.
Check out his blog(http://blog.holtz.com/index.php/weblog/hct-home/), and in particular the posting titled “Organic social media vs. marketing campaigns” (http://blog.holtz.com/index.php/weblog/organic_social_media_vs._marketing_campaigns/) – I think it lends well to the conversations we’ve been having about “Paul’s Story”.
Here is a great power point presentation about integrating blogs into marketing strategies. It talks a lot about communication, so it’s certainly addressing more than sales.

There is a great case study about Best Buy using social media as an employee relations tool.
